COMET with program Training

ALGE-TIMING has developed a new innovative training system. It is very practical for ski training, ski tests, and all training's with single start and automatic timing.

The program has the following features:

all competitors must have about the same level (about the same times)

timing with up to four competitors on the course

timing with up to four timing points (start, intermediate time 1, intermediate time 2, finish)

you can measure as well the speed at any timing point

for each timing point we use a separate timing channel

you can input the start number for each competitor, or take a automatic continuos ID number

you can show the times on a display board

you can print the times on a printer

all times are stored in the Comet. You can print the time at a later point or transfer them to a PC

you can get free of charge a interface-software that makes you a txt-file. This text-file you can load e.g. into Microsoft Excel and make a statistic.

SWIM 2000

A new timing system for swimming is now available. You can get information about SWIM 2000 at your ALGE-dealer or on the Homepage for SWIM 2000.

SWIM 2000 is operated by a PC. The software includes also a evaluation software. You can download the SWIM 2000 software on our Download page.

The ALGE SWIM2000 was used with a great success at the European Master Championships 1999 in Innsbruck. This is the biggest swimming competition in the world with over 3600 competitors and over 10,500 starts during 5 days of competition.

ALGE wrote timing history at Masters. The SWIM 2000 handled full automatic timing with two swimmer in one lane for 400 and 800 m races. This was worldwide the first time that a full automatic timing system was used for such an event.

Our Business Manager

Alwin Häle

will retire at March 05, 1999

With a happy and sad face ALGE announces the retirement of Alwin Häle. Alwin Häle retired after 30 years as business manager of the ALGE factory.

The happy face comes up when we think of the long time that Alwin Häle was the business manager of ALGE TIMING. We really think that he deserves to enjoy many healthy and happy years in the future.

The sad faces comes up when we think about the big hole that Alwin Häle will leave in the ALGE Team. He was one of the key persons behind the success of ALGE. Such a personality will be difficult to replace, but we will try to do the our best.

Albert Vetter will replace Alwin Häle as business manager.

Roman Merhar takes care about technical questions of ALGE customers and representatives.

Photofinish OPTIc

The OPTIc is a computerized color photofinish system with integrated evaluation software. Further information you can receive from your ALGE representative or on the OPTIc homepage.

We distribute the OPTIc since November 1998. Of course we guaranties our customers a free update of software, since we still work on additional functions of the software. Momentarily we deliver the software for Windows 95. In February 1999 we expect to have the software ready for Windows 98.

The OPTIc will be available at the end November 1998.

New Photocell RLS1n and RLS1nd

Starting in September ALGE will deliver the new photocell RLS1c and RLS1nd. This new type replaces the type RLS1c and RLS1cd. The difference between the old and new models is the additional banana socket (for a two core impulse cable) and the on-/off-switch for the internal battery.

New Startmicrophone SM8

Starting in September ALGE will deliver the new Startmicrophone SM8. The SM8 replaces the old type SM7. The new startmicrophone works very reliable. It reacts only on a gun shoot. A big advantage is the mounting bracket that allows a flexible fixing on the different gun types.

Selftimer SF2

The ALGE Selftimer SF2 has some nice additional functions. It has built in the feature to either measure the time or the speed of a skier. Of course a combination of both is also possible.

Further you can control now the complete Selftimer system from a PC.

ALGE TIMING in the Year 2000

During the last month there was much discussion in the media about the problem with the date of the year 2000. Many computers and many software will not work with the new date.

Also ALGE was questioned by quite a number of customers regarding this problem.

We can calm down all ALGE customers. All ALGE devices will also work without any problems, without any manipulation, in the next millenium.

Totomat

The Totomat is used for soccer (football). The central score board shows the game time and score of the actual game.

The score board to the left and right of the central score board shows the score of all other games in the leage. The green colon between the score indicates that the game is not finishe. A red colon indicates that the game is finished.
From the stadium newspaper everybody can see, where which game is indicated. This makes it very atractive to be a sponsor on the Totomat, because everybody looks at the advertising on the score board.
